Rescuing a dog will not change the world,

but it will change the dog’s world.

Our mission is to guard the welfare of all Weimaraners in South Carolina by providing science-based information to owners; assisting families rehoming their dog; obtaining custody of all Weimaraners held in shelters; and rehoming those dogs by applying modern assessment techniques to match dogs to families to optimize success and the well-being of all.

Weimaraner Rescue of South Carolina formed out for the  Greater Charleston Weimaraner club, which was founded by eight Weim enthusiasts in 1983. The original rescue that was established by the local club is now a network of state-wide volunteers, from the Lowcountry to the Upstate, who have a passion for Weimaraners and seek to provide care for Weims in need, in all regions of the state. In 2011, Weimaraner Rescue of South Carolina was officially established as its own entity, and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
